What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a cyber security assessment backed by the Government. It aims to help companies assess their security processes and prevent attacks. In addition, it is a recognised indication to customers that they are taking cyber security seriously. There are two levels of certification, plus a readiness toolkit you can use:
- Cyber Essentials readiness toolkit
- Cyber Essentials
- Cyber Essentials Plus
Cyber Essentials readiness toolkit
This is a series of questions that helps to create a personal action plan to help you move towards meeting the Cyber Essentials requirements. The action plan includes links to specific guidance on how to meet the requirements.
Cyber Essentials
This is a self-assessment questionnaire that measures your business against five basic security controls which is then verified by a qualified assessor to ensure you satisfy all the requirements.
Cyber Essentials Plus
This is a more rigorous, robust technical audit of your IT system by a Cyber Security Expert to ensure that all five of the basic security controls have been implemented effectively.
Cyber Security Audit services
The AdEPT Cyber Essentials and Security Readiness Assessments services prepare customers for Cyber Essentials certifications. Alternatively, they can simply provide a security audit for organisations who want an assessment of their current security provision.
